ALL

God is above all.   Above the heavens and the earth.  Above all powers, dominions, and kingdoms.  The beginning and the end.  He is all-knowing, all-encompassing.  He is everything – ALL.

PERIOD.

2 Cor 8:9:  And “God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

Ephesians 1: 22-23:   And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him, who fills everything in every way.

All I need.

No matter if I am at the lowest point in my life or at the top of the world, He (Jesus) is ALL.

I think by now you get my drift – but the real question is, how?  Not how can God be all but how can I believe it, know it in my heart and live by it?

St. Patrick said, “Christ beside me, Christ before me, Christ behind me, Christ within me, Christ beneath me, Christ above me.

What are you filling yourself up with?  Who or what do you follow?  What do you listen to, read, watch?  Is Christ beside you, before you and within you?

When I am all about “me”, I am empty.  My heart is full of selfishness while I try and satisfy with the temporary.  I people-please, thinking it will fill me.  But the problem is, its not me.  Its not true and its not right.  So I look elsewhere.  I falter.  I fall.  There, before me is Christ.  His ways are not my ways, but they are right.

His ways, the right way, isn’t natural at first.  It goes against all I know, all I have grown up with, all I have learned.  But as I focus on WHO He is (Savior/King/Lord) and fill myself with His Word, my heart sees who I can be.  And its not Debi, anymore, its

Christ beside me, Christ before me,

Christ behind me, Christ within me,

Christ beneath me, Christ above me.

All.

  2. THEREFORE, Worship Him.
"Worship is the submission of all our nature to God. It is the quickening of conscience by His holiness; the nourishment of mind with His truth; the purifying of imagination by His beauty; the opening of the heart to His love; the surrender of will to His purpose ? and all this gathered up in adoration the most selfless emotion of which our nature is capable and therefore the chief remedy for that self-centeredness which is our original sin and source of all actual sin."
